Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru has two major villa categories, Beachfront & Oceanview Villas.
Beachfront Villas have their doors opening directly to the beach with the Thai Sala connected by a wooden walkway. Some beachfront villas are almost on the water but others would be few steps away depending on the wind direction (that causes the sand to erode).
Oceanview Villas are located behind a beachfront villa. It offers more privacy as it is enclosed in a courtyard. The Thai Sala would mostly be under the shade of trees. Beach beds can of course be placed outside the villa nearer the beach if you want the sun.
All amenities & room sizes are the same. The area in front & the views of the beach may vary a little depending on the side of the island where the villa is located.
We regret to inform that the resort does not offer facilities for children. It is not recommended for families with children under 12 years. However this will be at the discretion of parents.
Located just north of the Equator, Maldives does receive plenty of sunshine. It follows the general monsoon months of Asia but with significantly tempered periods of rain. In any time of the year that you may be visiting, there is a possibility of differing weather conditions just like the rest of the world nowadays. The occasional rain showers are usually followed by clear skies with an often pleasant occurrence of warm sun. Most of the frequent Maldives visitors refer to it as “the country with endless summers” and being in the Maldives ourselves, we couldn’t have found a more appropriate term.
Clothing is generally informal and beach orientated although one is expected to wear more than swim suits and bikinis at meal times! Since Maldives is a Muslim country, you should wear trousers or a skirt when visiting Malé or one of the locally inhabited islands.
