Banyan Tree wins prestigious SIAS Award for Most Transparent Company 2010

Singapore- Banyan Tree Holdings Limited is announced Winner of ‘Most Transparent Company Award 2010’ in the Hotels & Restaurants Category of this year’s SIAS Investors Choice Awardsfor the fourth year in a row. 

SIAS launched the 'Most Transparent Company Award' in 2000 to encourage public listed companies to be more transparent to help investors make informed decisions on their investments.

Banyan Tree was selected from nominations received from Analysts, fund managers, financial journalists and retail investors represented by SIAS, and the Award is endorsed and supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers, SID, ICPAS, CFA Singapore, IMAS, IIA, SAS, The Straits Times, The Business Times and Lianhe Zaobao. The Award is based on key criteria such as timeliness of news release, substantiality of news release, clarity of news release, degree of media access, frequency of corporate results, availability of segmental information and communication channels.

On accepting the Award, Mr Eddy See, Chief Financial Officer, Banyan Tree Holdings Limited said: “It is indeed an honour and achievement to win this Most Transparent Company Award for the fourth year running, since 2007. This recognition accorded to us by the Singapore investing community is testament to how we as a Company are committed to upholding high standards of corporate governance and transparency to enhance shareholder value. We believe practicing good corporate governance is central to the promotion of transparency to enable stakeholders to make well-informed judgement and investment decisions.  We thank SIAS and their selection committee for so kindly bestowing Banyan Tree with this prestigious award."

Banyan Tree has to date received over 70 awards in 2010, reaching the 600th milestone since its inception in 1994. This follows the Group’s expansion, both within and outside of Asia Pacific. Continued efforts and innovation in the realms of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and spa services have also garnered further recognition in 2010.
