Architrave Design and Planning evoked the traditional lifestyle of old Samui in its design, using coconut palms and shells as a major theme, while maintaining a contemporary sensibility throughout. Virtually all construction materials were made in Thailand, in particular, the pale beige thin, flat roof tiles, typical of traditional Thai houses and temples. Further good practices include use of eco materials where applicable, such as compressed wood in place of solid wood.
