AN ONGOING EFFORT
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
To ensure sustainable development, we are committed to continually helping to conserve the immediate surroundings of our resorts. Larger-scale projects -- such as the marine conservation initiatives in the Maldives – as well as the little things (refillable containers for non-toxic, biodegradable toiletries) ensure the continued preservation of our ecological environment.

These conservation efforts even extend to the human environment; after all, we are part of the ecosystem too. By hiring and buying locally, as well as by engaging indigenous communities of various countries to produce cottage crafts for our resorts
and the Banyan Tree Gallery, we help keep cultures alive.

Other projects include scholarship programs at Banyan Tree Phuket, dengue fever and malaria eradication in Bintan and the commissioning of local artists in the Seychelles to produce works that complement the villas’ aesthetics. And of course, the well-received turtle projects in the Maldives.

Ceaseless sensitivity to the ecosystem is what the Green Imperative is about.
