BANYAN TREE HOTELS & RESORTS HONOURED IN CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS

Category: Awards

Singapore, 19 October 2011 – Award-winning publication Condé Nast Traveler has cited three Banyan Tree resorts in its highly regarded 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards which assesses the cities, islands and hotels visited by readers in the past year and the airlines and cruise ships used to travel to these destinations.  Banyan Tree Phuket and Banyan Tree Bangkok in Thailand, along with Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico, received top rankings.

More than eight million votes were cast by nearly 29,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers.  These awards have come to be seen as a discerning perspective on the best the travel industry has to offer due to their breadth and depth of scope.  Banyan Tree’s flagship resort, Banyan Tree Phuket, ranked 11th out of the top 20 Resorts in Asia; its first city-based property, Banyan Tree Bangkok, ranked 72nd out of the top 126 hotels in Asia; and Banyan Tree Mayakoba, the first Banyan Tree  in the Americas, ranked 16th out of the top 50 resorts in Mexico.

“Banyan Tree resorts are renowned for the superior service and distinctive experiences that make any stay with us so unique,” says Mr. Ho Kwon Ping, Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings. “We are honoured to receive this recognition as a reflection of our commitment to these values.”

Launched in 1994, Banyan Tree Phuket was an early pioneer of the pool villa concept which immediately became a hallmark of the brand.  The resort is part of Laguna Phuket, Asia’s first integrated resort, and offers 174 luxuriously appointed villas surrounded by lush tropical gardens and soothing water features.

Banyan Tree Bangkok is a sanctuary in Thailand’s bustling capital city that caters to business travellers, families and holiday goers. The al fresco Vertigo restaurant and Moon Bar offer stunning 360-degree panoramic views 61 stories above Bangkok’s cityscape.

Banyan Tree Mayakoba is located in the picturesque Riviera Maya, Mexico’s premier beach destination fronting the Caribbean Sea. A total of 107 pool villas are discreetly built into the carefully conserved landscape which preserves four ecosystems in balance –mangroves, dunes, low forests, and coral reefs.
