Singapore, April 2012– Banyan Tree Spa Academy, established by Asia’s leading spa operator - Banyan Tree Spa, has garnered the prestigious PATA Gold Award for Education and Training at the 2012 PATA Gold Awards ceremonyheld on 21 April 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This distinguished accolade, presented by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), recognises the exceptional achievement of Banyan Tree Spa Academy in its rigorous and holistic educational efforts in the competitive tourism scene.

The PATA Gold Awards put the spotlight on tourism innovation and excellence. Stringent criteriawere set by the independent judging panel for the 180 entries received from 79 organisations and individuals. The Awards were presented to27 keynote industry stakeholders that had made outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of travel and tourism across the Asia Pacific region in a responsible and sustainable manner.
