Banyan Tree Sanya is located in Luhuitou Bay, Sanya in Hainan Province. Located on the southern tip of Hainan Island, Sanya lies between 18°09’27”- 18°37’27” north latitude and 108°56’30” - 109°48’28” east longitude, almost similar to Hawaii - thus earning itself the name "Oriental Hawaii".

Because of its advantageous gateway location, Sanya plays an important role in connecting China with Southwest Asia, Africa and Europe. The area of Sanya is about 1,919 square kilometers, 91.6 kilometers long from the east to the west, and 51.2 kilometers wide from the north to the south. With a coastline stretching 209.1 kilometers, it has 10 islets and 19 harbors.

Sanya is revered for being a tropical resort paradise because of its wonderful weather that averages 25.4 degrees throughout the year. Boasting white sandy beaches and clear blue seas and breathtaking scenery, it is fast becoming a popular holiday destination, playing host to international events such as the Ms World Finals.
