Banyan Tree Bintan has the luminous distinction of being built on a unique site of lush first-growth rainforestry – a rarity in a region where most coastal lands are planted with coconut trees. Nestled within this enclave of organic nature include flora maturing close to a century old and rare specimens such as the Malayan Fern Palm and Crinum Lily. The villas are raised above land on traditional wooden stilts to provide you with a treetop experience and one of the resort's swimming pool was carved out of rock.

The architecture of this resort draws deeply on the twin inspirations of Balinese and traditional fishing villages to reflect the essence of the archipelago's native culture. Marble, stone, timber and native alang alang blend on a constructive palette to flow across each resort building in harmonious symmetry. Indonesian batik and tropical leaf motifs are textured across the resort décor to draw you more deeply into the eye of local life.
