Jindao Gorge

The Jindao Gorge Scenic Spot is found at the foot of Beibei district with an altitude of 825 metres. Despite being relatively new, the gorge has already acquired the moniker of China's most dangerous gorge because of 16-kilometre plank road set precariously along its cliffs. The gorge is located 80 minutes away from the resort.

Beibei Cultural Attractions

Beibei was a small, impoverished town at the beginning of the 20th century. This changed in 1927 when a man named Lu Zuofa arrived. He had a defining role in developing the town's economy and education and powered Beibei into a world-famous city within a decade. The town has since welcomed illustrious visitors such as Chiang Kai-shek and Soong May-ling. The famous Chinese novelist Lao She lived here and his former residence is open to the public today.

Laitan and Diaoyu Old Town

Laitan is an old town near the river. It was built during the Song Dynasty and is one of China's top 10 ancient towns, known for its utter beauty and history. Diaoyu is an old town famous for its temple and rock carvings. It is the site of ancient battles fought in the days of yore.

Dazu Rock Carvings

These carvings in rock date from the 9th to 13th centuries and are famous for their aesthetic quality, subject matter diversity and simplistically elegant depiction of everyday life in China during the period. The carvings are etched into the sheer hillfaces and showcase the coexistence of three religions – Buddhism, Taodism and Confucianism. The Dazu Rock Carvings have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located two hours from the resort.

Wulong Karst Area

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wulong features the most glorious of natural scenery. Popular highlights of this area include the Three Natural Bridges, Furong Cave and the ethereally named Fairy Mountain.

Chongqing City After Nightfall

The old city of Chongqing is encircled almost fully by two sluices flowing from both Yangtze and Jialing rivers. With rows of buildings neatly forming steps in the hillside, Chongqing has become known as the City of Hills. Looking at the panorama of the city's nightscenes, you will admire the three-way contrast of moonlit river, sky blanketed in stars and the cityscape.
