A film festival predominantly held in Acapulco yearly, FICA also travels to neighbouring locales such as Taxco, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Chilpancingo and public universities.

Abierto Mexicano de Tenis (AMT)


The AMT is one of the most prestigious sport events in Latin America attended by many famous commercials, brands and celebrities. The tennis tournament takes place within the arenas of men's ATP and women's WTA. The AMT takes place in Acapulco in the Fairmont Acapulco Princess Complex, featuring a clay surface.

New Year's Eve fireworks


Celebrate New Year's Eve in Acapulco with the traditional gala and fireworks, including a 100,000-firework display and 20,000 released cantoya balloons at the Bay St. Lucia, Bay of Puerto Marques or Pie de la Cuesta.

World Holiday Parade Tour


A grand parade featuring huge balloons with well-beloved characters that will thrill children. Characters such as Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Bob the Builder and the Christmas elves are some examples of colourful balloons bobbing along the streets of Acapulco Port.

La Quebrada


A world-renowned picture of La Quebrada exists in the traveller's mind; a diver leaping off a 45-metre high cliff right into the Pacific Sea. Watch brave young men undergo this rite of passage with bathing suits and intrepid flips of acrobatic mastery at all times of the day or night. La Quebrada is located near the Acapulco's downtown.

Barra Vieja Beach


Admire both Tres Palos Lagoon and the acapulcan sea from the vantage point of Barra Vieja Beach, lying 50 kilometres southeast of Acapulco. Enjoy water sports, horse-riding, lagoon boat tours and feast on local dishes such as Huachinango Sarandeado, a whole fish prepared in a special grill.

Tres Palos Lagoon


A freshwater lagoon and home to many species, Tres Palos Lagoon is a beautiful way for visitors to glimpse raw mexican wildlife. The locals offer boat tours on the lagoon and those who enjoy birdwatching will find no better place to indulge in a spot of avian sightseeing.
