Activities & Experiences

This three-day holiday is one of Korea's most significant events. Many Koreans take the opportunity to return to their hometowns to visit their family and practise an ancestral ritual called Charye. They will dress in traditional Hanbok during this time, and reconnect with relatives over a home-cooked meal.

Spring

Chuseok, originally known as Hangawi, is a major harvest festival and three-day holiday in Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. Like many other harvest festivals, it is held during the Autumn Equinox. As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their ancestral hometowns and share a feast of traditional Korean food such as Songpyeon, and rice wines such as Sindoju and Dongdongju.
