Located 32 km northeast of Banyan Tree Ringha is one of the largest lakes in Shangri-La. The lake is 3,705 metres above sea level and the ideal setting for nature walks. Unlike the barren rocky mountains of western Tibet, the surrounding mountains are covered with forests and birds. In addition to the golden colored “cracked-stomach fish”, musk deer and muntjaks are frequently seen accompanying shepherded flocks on the land.
