In late 2020, as the world emerged from closed borders and the weight of post-pandemic stress, Banyan Tree Mayakoba proudly hosted the first Women’s Sanctuary Retreat.
Our mission was clear: to inspire reconnection, encourage networking, and nurture community-building through a four-day women’s leadership journey grounded in our unique wellness philosophy.
Over the past four years, influential Mexican women, CEOs, entrepreneurs, artists, and designers, have come together at our retreat to realign with their purpose and intuition, cultivating a vibrant community of powerful, supportive women.
Our goal is to promote genuine connection, build new support systems, and foster a community of women who come together around a unique wellness concept. Through inspiring talks, mindful practices, and shared experiences, this retreat creates a safe and empowering space where every woman can rise, restore, and feel part of something greater.

Mrs. Chiang is a prominent Singaporean businesswoman, environmentalist, and global hospitality leader. She co-founded Banyan Tree Holdings (now Banyan Group) with her husband, Ho Kwon Ping and has been instrumental in embedding sustainability and responsible tourism into the company’s core. She is also a passionate advocate for social causes, including female leadership, family violence awareness, and animal conservation.

Renyung has been playing a key role in the company’s brand evolution, digital transformation, and focus on wellbeing and sustainability. She holds a BSc from the London School of Economics and is recognized for her entrepreneurial ventures in coworking and e-commerce and her engagement in the social business sector, including the AVPN Gender Network.
